It shall be unlawful for any person or persons to exhibit within the limits of the borough any show, exhibition or entertainment of any kind for which a fee is charged without having first procured from the Borough Secretary a license to exhibit the same and for which license a fee shall be paid for the use of the borough in the sum of twenty-five dollars ($25.).
For lectures and scientific, historical or literary entertainments, musical parties or concerts, exhibitions or fairs given or made by the citizens of the borough for benevolent or charitable purposes, no license or permit or fee shall be required.
Any person or persons violating any of the provisions of this chapter shall, upon conviction before a District Justice, pay a fine not to exceed six hundred dollars ($600.) plus costs of prosecution and, in default of payment of such fine and costs, to serve a period of imprisonment not to exceed up to thirty (30) days.
