Pursuant to Section 1005, Clause VII, of the Borough Code, as amended,[1] the office of elected Borough Auditor in the Borough of Bell Acres, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania, is hereby abolished.

The Borough Council of the Borough shall appoint annually by resolution a certified public accountant or a firm of certified public accountants to audit the accounts and other evidences of financial transactions of the Borough and Borough officers for the prior closing fiscal year, commencing with the 1964 fiscal year.

Any certified public accountant or firm of certified public accountants so employed by the Borough shall have the powers and duties and be subject to the same penalties as Borough auditors have in the past and as provided in 53 P.S. § 46196.
The report of the certified public accountant or firm of certified public accountants shall be subject to appeals in the same manner as were reports of Borough Auditors in the past.
The compensation of the certified public accountant or firm of certified public accountants shall be fixed by the Borough Council at the time of employment and shall be paid out of Borough funds.
