It shall be unlawful for any person to remain upon the land or supporting buildings of the public school system of the Borough of Lodi after 9:00 p.m. unless such person is in the performance of duty directed by an officer or an authorized agent of the Borough of Lodi or the Board of Education of the Borough of Lodi or unless such person is in lawful employment making it necessary to be in such place after 9:00 p.m.
It shall be unlawful for anyone having legal care and custody of any person to allow or permit such person to go or be upon said land and supporting buildings of the public school system of the Borough of Lodi in the nighttime as restricted in the preceding section, except for the reasons as set forth in said section.
Every member of the police force while on duty is hereby authorized to detain any such person willfully violating the provisions of § 333-7 of this article; in the event that said detainee is a minor, the detention will continue until the parent or guardian of the child shall take him or her into custody, but such officer shall, immediately upon taking custody of the child, communicate with the parent or guardian.
If it shall appear that any child taken into custody for a violation of § 333-7 of this article is growing up in mendicancy or vagrancy or is incorrigible for lack of proper parental care or has no home, proper proceedings shall be taken to have such child placed in the care of a state institution as provided by statute.
Any person or persons violating any of the provisions of this article, upon conviction thereof, shall forfeit and pay a fine not exceeding $2,000, imprisonment for a period not exceeding 90 days and/or a period of community service not exceeding 90 days.
