Employees and officials must refrain from participating in any
activity or business venture which could conflict with the interests
of the Town/Village of East Rochester. Specifically, you may not accept
personal payment or other benefits from vendors or residents of the
Town/Village, nor should you take any action as a representative of
the Town/Village for personal gain. You also may not accept a second
job with a vendor of the Town/Village. If you are a full-time employee
of the Town/Village of East Rochester, your job with the Town/Village
should be a priority. Second jobs with other employers can never be
used as an excuse for not performing the duties of your position with
the Town/Village.
In your work at the Town/Village of East Rochester, you will
learn things about the Town/Village which are confidential, either
by Town/Village Code or state and federal regulation. Every employee
of the Town/Village has a professional and ethical responsibility
to treat this information as privileged and to ensure such information
is not improperly or accidentally disclosed. Except as required in
the performance of your duties for the Town/Village, you may not use
or disclose any confidential information and must, upon termination
of employment, return to the Town/Village of East Rochester all copies
of documents, notes, computer disks and other repositories containing
confidential information.
Gifts, favors or excessive business entertainment given to individual
employees by residents or vendors is prohibited.
