Any person who shall own, keep or harbor a dog in the City of
Port Republic shall apply for and procure from the City Clerk a license
and official metal registration tag for each such dog so owned, kept
or harbored and shall place upon each such dog a collar or harness
with the registration tag securely fastened thereto.
Any dog off the premises of the owner or of the person keeping or harboring said dog without a current registration tag on its collar shall be seized and impounded and shall not thereafter be released to the person who owns, keeps or harbors it until such time as that person applies for, procures and produces a license and metal registration tag therefor as provided in §
76-6 hereof.
Any person who violates or fails to comply with this article
shall be subjected to a penalty of $50.

No person shall keep, harbor or maintain any dog within the
boundaries of the City of Port Republic, New Jersey, that habitually
barks or cries so as to disturb the peace and quiet of the persons
residing in the City.

Any person who shall own, keep or harbor a dog or cat in the
City of Port Republic shall:
A. Prevent such dog or cat from running at large upon any public street
or public place at any time.
B. Prevent such dog or cat from being on any public street or other
public place at any time unless such dog or cat is accompanied by
a person over the age of nine years old and is securely controlled
by an adequate leash no longer than six feet in length.
C. Prevent such dog or cat from running at large upon the lands of any
person, except the lands of any person owning, keeping or harboring
such dog or cat, without the consent of the owners of such land.
D. Prevent such dog or cat from injuring or damaging any garden, flower
garden, land, plant, tree, shrubbery, grass, grounds or property of
any person other than the person owning, keeping or harboring such
dog or cat.
E. Prevent such dog or cat from biting or scratching any person within
the boundaries of the City of Port Republic.
