It shall be unlawful for any person, firm or corporation, within
the Village of Rothschild, to operate or place or keep or have in
his possession or under his control or on his premises for operation
any coin-operated amusement device as in this article hereinafter
defined without first having obtained a license for such device. Such
license shall be issued by the Clerk upon payment of the sum set by
the Village Board for each device, per license year, or fraction thereof,
and shall not be prorated. The license year shall be July 1 to June
30.
When used in this article the following terms shall have the
following meanings:
AMUSEMENT DEVICE
Any mechanical device operated for amusement, competition,
or sport by the insertion of a coin of any kind and shall include
the type of mechanical devices commonly known as baseball, football,
basketball, hockey, ray guns, shuffleboard, bowling games, bumper
games, and skiball and shall mean all coin-operated amusement devices,
other than coin-operated music machines as hereinafter defined, and
excepting radios and television sets.
COIN
Includes any token, ticket, or slug as well as coins minted
by any sovereign government.

COIN-OPERATED MUSIC MACHINES
Phonographs, soundies and any other device for reproduction
of music, sound or other audible entertainment operated by the insertion
of a coin, whether or not the particular entertainment is selected
mechanically, manually, or by an operator upon request, excepting
radios and television sets.
The terms of this article shall not be held to include operations
as a part of carnivals or exhibitions otherwise licensed by the Village.
Nothing contained in this article shall be held to prohibit any operation
required by statutes or by order of any court.
Licensees are required to exhibit their certificate of license
at the request of all police officers or of the President of the Village
of Rothschild.
No licensee whose license has been revoked shall make further
application until a period of at least six months shall have elapsed
since the last previous revocation.
All annual licenses issued under the provisions of this article
shall expire at 12:00 midnight on the 30th day of June next thereafter.

Any person, firm or corporation who or which shall violate any provision of this article shall be subject to §
1-2 of this Code.
