As used in this article, the following terms shall have the meanings indicated:
MOTORIZED VEHICLE
Any self-propelled device utilized for transportation or recreational purposes, without regard to whether such device may be licensed for public highway use by the New York State Department of Motor Vehicles, including but not limited to cars, trucks and vans (both two- and four-wheel drive), motorcycles, motorbikes, minibikes, mud buggies, dune buggies, mopeds, go-carts and all-terrain vehicles (ATV's).
PARKS
All those lands designated and set aside by the government of the Town of Lewiston as public common areas to be utilized by Town residents for recreational, athletic and social purposes.
No person shall possess or use any motorized vehicle in any and all Town of Lewiston parks.
A. 
Any motorized vehicle which may be licensed by the New York State Department of Motor Vehicles for public highway use may be used as a means of transportation when entering and exiting all Town of Lewiston parks, so long as only designated avenues of ingress and egress are safely and legally used, and all such vehicles may be parked only in designated parking areas when the possessors or users of said vehicles are enjoying the use of Town park facilities.
B. 
The provisions of this article shall not apply to Town of Lewiston police or security personnel who utilize motorized vehicles when on duty and patrolling Town parks.
A. 
Any violation of this article of this chapter shall be deemed a violation.
B. 
For every violation of this article of this chapter, the person violating same shall be subject to a fine not exceeding $250 or imprisonment not exceeding 15 days, or both.
C. 
Nothing herein shall prevent the initiation of any civil action available therefor.
