The Town hereby establishes an economic development commission
in accordance with § 7-136 of the Connecticut General Statutes
for the promotion and development of the business and industrial resources
of the Town, with all of the powers and duties provided for in such
section or any amendment thereto.
The Economic Development Commission shall consist of five residents
of the Town, not more than four of whom may be of the same political
party, and who shall be appointed by the Board of Selectmen to serve
for a term of five years.
Any vacancy in the Economic Development Commission may be filled
in accordance with Charter § 603.
The members of the Economic Development Commission shall receive
no compensation in accordance with Charter § 601 but shall
be reimbursed for necessary expenses incurred in the performance of
their official duties.
The annual appropriation, which may not exceed 1/20 of 1% of
the last completed Grand List of taxable property, for the expenses
of the Economic Development Commission is to be applied for from the
Board of Finance.
