The provisions of Chapter 127 of the Connecticut General Statutes are hereby adopted by the Town, and the Town hereby joins in the creation of a regional council of governments for the Northern Middlesex County Region, now officially known as the "Lower Connecticut River Valley Council of Governments (RiverCOG)."

A. 
The Town shall have two representatives on the RiverCOG.[1]

B. 
The Board of Selectmen shall appoint to the agency one elector of the Town. The appointment shall be made during the month of January of even-numbered years. The appointee shall serve a term of two years.
C. 
The Planning and Zoning Commission of the Town, duly constituted, shall appoint one elector to the agency for a term of two years. The appointment shall be made during the month of January of odd-numbered years.
D. 
Appointees shall serve for the term of their office and until their successors shall have been appointed. Appointees may be reappointed. Terms of office shall commence on April 1 of the year appointment is made.
Vacancies in the regional council of governments created by resignation or inability to serve shall be filled by the appointing authority for the remainder of the unexpired term. Any representative who is absent from three consecutive regular meetings thereof shall be considered to have resigned from the body, except that the requirements of this section may be waived by the appointing authority for good cause.
