There is hereby established an auxiliary Police force within
the Police Department for the City, said auxiliary Police force to
be under the operational control of the Chief of Police of the City.

Members of the auxiliary Police force shall be appointed and
confirmed in office as follows: From time to time the Chief of Police
shall forward to the Mayor a list of residents of the City qualified
to serve as a member of the auxiliary Police force and recommended
and certified by the Chief of Police to the Mayor for consideration,
from which list the Mayor may from time to time nominate persons to
serve as members of the auxiliary Police force, subject to approval
of said nomination by a majority of the City Council.

Members of the auxiliary Police force shall serve in that capacity
without pay.

Members of the auxiliary Police force shall have such duties
and shall serve at such hours as shall be assigned to them by the
Chief of Police of the City.

Members of the auxiliary Police force shall have the same and
equal powers as regular officers of the Police Department of the City.

Members of the auxiliary Police force shall be terminated in
the same manner as provided for regular members of the Police Department.
