Pursuant to MGL c. 60, § 3C, the City of Quincy Educational Fund Committee is established. It shall consist of the Superintendent of Schools or his designee and six residents of the City appointed by the Mayor pursuant to the City Charter. The initial appointments shall be for two members through the first Monday in February 2005, two members to 2004, and two members to 2003. Thereafter, all appointments shall be for a term of three years. When appointed, one Committee member shall be a teacher in the Quincy public schools, one shall be a member of a City-wide parent organization, one shall be a member of the School Committee, one shall be a member of the City Council and two shall be concerned residents of the City interested in school affairs.
Pursuant to the provisions of MGL c. 60, § 3C, the Committee shall oversee the distribution of donated funds to provide supplemental educational funding for local educational needs.
Members of the Committee shall be considered special municipal employees.
