The office of Health Commissioner of the City is established.
The Mayor shall appoint a Health Commissioner of the City whenever a vacancy occurs in the office.
The Health Commissioner shall be vested with all the powers and duties heretofore exercised by and vested in the Board of Health of the City and such duties as are provided by the General Laws.
Whenever there exists a violation of the health laws or regulations of the Health Department in or upon the premises of any person holding a common victualer's license or an alcoholic beverage license, which violation has not been seasonably corrected or removed, the Health Commissioner, in addition to all other lawful proceedings applicable thereto, shall cause a detailed written report of such violation to be filed with the Board of Licensing Commissioners of the City.
The Mayor may appoint a clerk and such officers, agents, assistants and inspectors as may be necessary to execute the health laws and Health Department regulations.
