[Ch. 19 §19.1301]
No person shall operate or park any motor vehicle unless such
motor vehicle shall have displayed thereon valid and current State
license plates registered to that particular motor vehicle. All license
plates shall be properly displayed and readable from a distance of
fifty (50) feet in daytime or at night.
It shall be unlawful for any person to operate in this City
a motor vehicle or trailer required to be registered as provided by
law, unless a certificate of ownership has been issued.

No person shall operate a motor vehicle within the City limits
of the City of California which does not display a certificate of
inspection if the same is required by Chapter 307, RSMo.
