A. 
The provisions of this article imposing a limit on parking shall not relieve any person of the duty to observe other and more restrictive provisions prohibiting or limiting the stopping, standing or parking of vehicles as set forth in N.J.S.A. 39:4-138, any other New Jersey statute or as hereinafter provided.
B. 
Upon the declaration of an emergency, there shall be no parking upon streets or parts of streets where temporary emergency no-parking signs are displayed. The Chief of Police, or in his absence the ranking police officer, is authorized to declare an emergency and to direct the posting of said emergency no-parking signs when weather conditions, accidents, fires or public celebrations dictate or require the avoidance of hazards or other conditions which interfere with the free flow of traffic.
C. 
Notification that the emergency no-parking signs are being or will be posted shall be given to the operator or owner of any vehicle which has been parked prior to the posting of the signs.

No person shall park any truck or vehicle over 10,000 pounds (GVW), a school bus, any other type of bus, recreational vehicle, camper, boat or trailer within the limits of the Township of Mount Olive on any street, road, avenue or highway except as provided in this section.
A. 
Emergency or temporary stopping or parking is permitted for a period of up to three hours so long as it does not create a hazard or impede traffic and allows for safe passage of emergency vehicles.
B. 
For any other reason not listed above, a waiver may be granted if approved by the Township of Mount Olive Police Department.
A. 
No person shall park a vehicle(s) on any street within Mount Olive Township when the streets are covered with snow and/or ice.
B. 
The above parking prohibitions shall remain in effect after the snow has ceased until the streets have been plowed sufficiently and to the extent that parking will not interfere with the normal flow of traffic.
C. 
Any unoccupied vehicle parking or standing in violation shall be deemed a nuisance and a menace to the safe and proper regulation of traffic, and any police officer may provide for the removal of such vehicle. The owner shall pay the reasonable costs of the removal and storage which may result from such removal before gaining possession of the vehicle.

A. 
Handicapped parking on street. In accordance with the provisions of N.J.S.A. 39:4-197.5, the following street locations are designated as handicapped parking spaces. Such spaces are for use by persons who have been issued special identification cards or plates or placards by the Division of Motor Vehicles, or a temporary placard issued by the Chief of Police.

B. 
Off-street. Any individual, partnership, association or corporation which owns any public building in the Township of Mount Olive shall provide reserved parking spaces for the physically handicapped on any parking lot serving such public buildings in accordance with the following:
(1) 
A minimum of 1% of the total number of parking spaces, but not less than two parking spaces, shall be provided in an area of the parking lot which is most accessible and approximate to the public building or buildings which the lot serves.
(2) 
Each handicapped parking space shall be identified with two clearly visible signs. One sign shall contain the words "Reserved Parking" followed by the international symbol for handicapped access. The second sign shall contain the words "Div. of MV ID Required." Both types of signs shall conform to the requirements set forth in the New Jersey State Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices for Streets and Highways.
(3) 
Each space shall be 12 feet wide to allow room for persons in wheelchairs or on braces or crutches to get in and out of either side of an automobile onto a level, paved surface suitable for wheeling and walking.
(4) 
Where possible, such spaces shall be located so that persons in wheelchairs or using braces or crutches are not compelled to wheel or walk behind parked cars.
(5) 
Curb ramps shall be provided to permit handicapped people access from the parking area to a sidewalk.
(6) 
Pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:48-2.46, any individual, partnership, association or corporation failing to provide parking spaces in accordance with the terms of this section, and/or the operator of any motor vehicle which does not bear a special vehicle identification certificate located in accordance with N.J.S.A. 39:4-206 and who parks such motor vehicle in a space reserved as provided in this section shall be subject to a penalty for the first offense of at least $100 and, for any subsequent offense, the penalty shall be a fine of at least $100 and up to 90 days of community service, or both.
(7) 
All of the costs of the above signs and the installation of said signs shall be paid by the owner of the parking lot, and said signs shall be properly maintained by the owner of the parking lot.

A. 
EVSE parking.
(1) 
Publicly accessible EVSE shall be reserved for parking of electric vehicles actively being charged. Electric vehicles shall be connected to the EVSE. The use of time limits is optional and shall be determined by the municipality or owner/designee, as applicable.
(2) 
Electric vehicles may be parked in any parking space designated for parking, subject to the restrictions that would apply to any other vehicle that would park in that space.
(3) 
Public parking.
(a) 
Pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:48-2, publicly accessible EVSE parking spaces, listed below, shall be monitored by the municipality's Police Department and enforced in the same manner as any other parking. It shall be a violation of this section to park or stand a nonelectric vehicle in such a space, or to park an electric vehicle in such a space when it is not connected to the EVSE.
(b) 
For parking violations enforced by the municipality, any nonelectric vehicle parked or standing in an EVSE parking space or any electric vehicle parked and not connected to the EVSE shall be subject to a fine of $50 for each day such violation is committed and/or impoundment of the offending vehicle for space enforced by the municipality.
(c) 
Signage indicating the penalties for violations shall comply with § 550-100.26E of the Township Code. Any vehicle parked in such a space shall make the appropriate payment for the space and observe the time limit for the underlying parking area, if applicable.
(d) 
Designated public EVSE parking locations:

Mount Olive Township Municipal Building: four parking spaces.

Mount Olive Township Library: four parking spaces.
[3] 
Turkey Brook Park: four parking spaces in soccer parking lot.
[4] 
Flanders Park: two parking spaces.
(4) 
Private EVSE parking. The use of EVSE shall be monitored by the property owner or designee.
B. 
Usage fees. In addition to any applicable parking fees, the fee to use parking spaces within the Township identified as EVSE spaces shall be as established by the owner/designee of the EVSE space, in accordance with applicable state and federal regulations. Fees shall be available on the EVSE or posted at or adjacent to the EVSE parking space.
