[Ord. No. 2010-19 § 1, 8-5-2010]

New Year's Day
Memorial Day
Martin Luther King Day
Fourth of July
Labor Day
Presidents' Day
Columbus Day
Veterans Day
Thanksgiving and Friday afterwards
Christmas Day
Employee's own birthday
Noon on Christmas Eve
B.
When a holiday falls on a Sunday, the following Monday shall be considered the designated holiday. Whenever a holiday falls on Saturday, the preceding Friday or following Monday shall be considered the designated holiday, as determined by the Mayor. Holidays which occur during vacation leave shall not be charged against vacation leave. Any employee required to work on the designated holiday shall receive his/her hourly rate of pay for number of hours worked plus the normal compensation.
C.
The Police Department must be available to assist in the safety of the City's citizens. Therefore the police officers are allowed to take one (1) day per month [not to exceed eleven (11) days] or use the holiday hours within thirty (30) days following the holiday, thus eliminating the holiday time to accrue. Holiday pay is not transferable from month to month.
[Ord. No. 2010-19 § 1, 8-5-2010]
Each full-time employee shall be entitled to vacation leave at the rate of one (1) week at the end of the first year of employment and two (2) weeks at the end of each year, until the fifth year then it will go to three (3) weeks thereafter. Vacation leave shall be taken at times approved by the City Clerk or Public Works Director. If vacation leave is not used within the year following accrual, one (1) week may be carried over into the following year and used during such period or lost, and the balance if any may be paid in cash. For example, if at the end of a year, an employee has one and one-half (1 1/2) weeks of unused vacation, one (1) week may be carried over and the one half (1/2) week paid. When a regularly scheduled holiday occurs during the period of an employee's vacation, an additional day of vacation shall be granted. An employee who is separated from service in good standing shall be compensated for vacation accrued up to date of separation.
[Ord. No. 2010-19 § 1, 8-5-2010]
Maysville counts both sick leave and personal leave as personal leave. After one (1) full calendar (named) month (i.e., fractional beginning months do not count), an employee begins to accrue personal leave at the rate of (8) eight hours per month to a maximum of two hundred forty (240) hours. After six (6) months of employment, employees may begin to use their accrued personal leave. Unused personal leave is not paid on termination.
[Ord. No. 2010-19 § 1, 8-5-2010]
A.
Full-time Maysville City employees become eligible for the City's group health insurance after one (1) full calendar month of employment [e.g., someone hired after one (1) week had passed in April would become eligible to be covered by the group health policy at the beginning of June]. The City pays the full premium for coverage of the employee. This includes accident and life insurance. Coverage of dependents of employees and dental insurance are available to employees who will pay for them themselves. Arrangements will be made case-by-case to compensate employees who are covered by health insurance from another source.
B.
COBRA gives employees and their qualified beneficiaries the opportunity to continue health insurance coverage under the City of Maysville's health plan when a "qualifying event" would normally result in the loss of eligibility. Some common qualifying events are resignation, termination of employment, death of an employee, a reduction in an employee's hours, leave of absence, employee's divorce or legal separation and a dependent child no longer meeting eligibility requirements. Under COBRA, the employee or beneficiary pays the full cost of coverage at the City of Maysville's group plan rates plus an administration fee.
C.
Employees wishing to purchase additional various forms of insurance coverage offered can arrange to have pre-tax deductions from their paycheck.
