Pursuant to Act No. 230 of the Public Acts of Michigan of 1972 (MCLA § 125.1501 et seq.), as amended, the state electrical code is hereby adopted for the regulation of erection, construction, enlargement, alteration, repair, conversion, use, equipment, and size requirements and limitations and maintenance of all electrical equipment and wiring to be installed in all new or in remodeled or renovated facilities in the Village. Such code shall provide for the issuance of permits therefor and provide for penalties for violations of such code, providing that printed copies of the state electrical code shall be kept in the office of the Village Manager for inspection by, and distribution to, the public.
The fee schedule setting forth the costs for issuance of electrical permits and for inspection during installation shall be set by resolution of the Village Council.

A person who violates any provision of this article is responsible for a municipal civil infraction, subject to payment of a civil fine as set forth in § 55-8. Repeat offenses under this article shall be subject to increased fines as set forth in § 55-8.
