Pursuant to Section 8a of the Stille-DeRossett-Hale Single State
Construction Code Act (MCLA § 125.1508a), as amended, the state
mechanical code is hereby adopted for the regulation of design, erection,
construction, enlargement, alteration, repair, conversion, use, equipment,
and size requirements and limitations and maintenance of all mechanical
equipment to be installed in new buildings or in remodeled or renovated
facilities in the Village. Such code shall provide for the issuance
of permits therefor and provide for penalties for violation of such
code, provided that printed copies of the state mechanical code shall
be kept in the office of the Village Manager for inspection by, and
distribution to, the public.

Pursuant to the provisions of the state mechanical code, in
accordance with Act No. 230 of the Public Acts of Michigan of 1972
(MCLA § 125.1501 et seq.), as amended, the Building Official
of the Village is hereby designated as the enforcing agency to discharge
the responsibilities of the Village under Act No. 230 of the Public
Acts of Michigan of 1972 (MCLA § 125.1501 et seq.), as amended.
The Village assumes responsibility for the administration and enforcement
of such act throughout its corporate limits.

A person who violates any provision of this article is responsible for a municipal civil infraction, subject to payment of a civil fine as set forth in §
55-8. Repeat offenses under this article shall be subject to increased fines as set forth in §
55-8.
