From and after the effective date of this chapter, all accounts
of the Borough of Catawissa for the year 1992, and all subsequent
years, shall be audited by an independent auditor. Such auditor shall
be a certified public accountant or firm of certified public accountants
registered in Pennsylvania; shall be appointed annually by resolution
of the Borough Council; shall have the powers and duties set forth
in Section 1005(7) of the Borough Code, as amended, 8 Pa.C.S.A. § 1005(7),
the text of which is hereby incorporated by reference and made a part
of this chapter to the same extent as if the same were set forth herein
at length; and shall be compensated at a rate fixed by Borough Council.
