All City elections shall be conducted and held in conformance
with the provisions of Chapter 115, RSMo.

If two (2) or more persons receive an equal number of votes
for nomination or election to the office of Mayor and a higher number
of votes than any other candidate for nomination or election to the
same office, the officer with whom such candidates filed their declarations
of candidacy shall, immediately after the results of the election
have been certified, issue a proclamation stating the fact and ordering
a special election to determine which candidate is elected to the
office. The proclamation shall set the date of the election and shall
be sent by the officer to each election authority responsible for
conducting the special election. In his/her proclamation, the officer
shall specify the name of each candidate for the office to be voted
on at the election, and the special election shall be conducted and
the votes counted as in other elections.
Any person who desires to become a candidate for an elective
City office at the general City election shall file with the City
Clerk, not prior to the hour of 8:00 A.M. on the 17th Tuesday prior
to, nor later than 5:00 P.M. on the 14th Tuesday prior to the next
City municipal election, a written declaration of his/her intent to
become a candidate at said election. The City Clerk shall keep a permanent
record of the names of the candidates, the offices for which they
seek election, and the date of their filing, and their names shall
appear on the ballots in that order.

Any person who is not qualified for his/her office as provided
by this Code or other ordinances shall not be entitled to have his/her
name printed on the ballot. The qualifications of a candidate for
office shall be determined by the Board of Aldermen upon hearing given,
and upon its own motion, or upon written affidavit by some person
that a named candidate is not qualified as such for the office sought.
The City Clerk shall, on or before the 17th Tuesday prior to
any election at which City offices are to be filled by said election,
notify the general public of the opening filing date, the office or
offices to be filled, the proper place for filing, and the closing
filing date of the election. Such notification may be accomplished
by legal notice published in at least one (1) newspaper of general
circulation in the City.
In City elections, the City Clerk shall notify the County Clerk
prior to 5:00 P.M. on the 10th Tuesday prior to any City election
except as noted in Section 115.125, RSMo. The notice shall be in writing,
shall specify that the Board of Aldermen is calling the election,
the purpose of the election, the date of the election, and shall include
a certified copy of the legal notice to be published including the
sample ballot. The notice and any other information required by Section
115.125, RSMo., may, with the prior notification to the election authority
receiving the notice, be accepted by facsimile transmission prior
to 5:00 P.M. on the 10th Tuesday prior to the election, provided that
the original copy of the notice and a certified copy of the legal
notice to be published shall be received in the office of the election
authority within three (3) business days from the date of the facsimile
transmission.

Prior to each City election, the Board of Aldermen shall timely
pass an election ordinance authorizing, establishing and providing
the election procedure to be followed in the conduct of the City election.

The newly elected officials shall be sworn in at the first Board
meeting following the certification of the election results by the
County Clerk.

A. The
City is hereby divided into three (3) Wards as hereinafter delineated.
1. Ward Number One (1) shall be all that portion of the City of Camdenton
lying North and East of Business Route 5 (formerly known as "State
Highway 5") and also lying North and West of U.S. Highway 54; said
ward being in part of Sections 18 and 19 in Township 38 North, Range
16 West; and being in part of Sections 14, 23, 24, and 25 in Township
38 North, Range 17 West.
2. Ward Number Two (2) shall be all that portion of the City of Camdenton
lying South and East of U.S. Highway 54; said ward being in part of
Sections 19, 20, and 30 in Township 38 North, Range 16 West; and being
in part of Sections 25, 26, 35, and 36 in Township 38 North, Range
17 West.
3. Ward Number Three (3) shall be all that portion of the City of Camdenton
lying South and West of Business Route 5 (formerly known as "State
Highway 5") and also lying North and West of U.S. Highway 54; said
ward being in part of Sections 22, 23, 24, 25, 26, and 27 in Township
38 North, Range 17 West.
