No smokepipe shall be within eighteen (18) inches of any woodwork,
or any wooden lath and plaster partition or ceiling. Where smokepipes
pass through a wooden lath and plaster partition, they shall be guarded
by galvanized iron ventilating thimbles at least twelve (12) inches
larger in diameter than of brickwork, or other noncombustible material.
No smokepipe shall pass through any floor, side of building or a roof
having wooden framework or covering.

No range, stove, heating furnace or similar appliance shall
be placed within eighteen (18) inches of any woodwork or wooden lath
and plaster partition. Ranges, heating furnaces or similar appliances
without legs, in which large hot fires are maintained, as in mercantile
and manufacturing buildings, shall rest upon eight-inch foundations
built of incombustible materials supported within the thickness of
the floor framing. Such hearths shall extend at least eighteen (18)
inches in front and eighteen (18) inches on the sides and back of
the ranges or similar heating appliances. Similar appliances with
legs shall be set on noncombustible material which shall extend at
least eighteen (18) inches in front and twelve (12) inches at side
and rear.

All electrical installations shall be made in accordance with
the "National Electrical Code," as approved by the American Standards
Association.

All parts of every building shall be designed to safely carry
the loads to be imposed thereon, and shall in all other respects conform
to good engineering practice.
