Revised General Bylaws]
The board of health shall have charge of any buildings which
are or may be established within the Town limits, for the admission
of patients having the smallpox or any other infectious disease; and
it shall make such rules and regulations for the management and government
of the patients and employees as it may deem proper and necessary.
The board shall carefully guard against the introduction of any cases
of infectious disease into any building under its charge other than
those appropriated for that purpose by the Town.
