No approach or driveway to any street or highway maintained
by the Town of Ashford shall be constructed nor existing driveway
improved unless a permit is first issued by the Board of Selectmen
or its agent.
The landowner or agent shall install all drainage pipes, culverts,
headwalls, catch basins, and ditches and perform any grading as deemed
necessary by the Board of Selectmen or its agent to protect the abutting
Town road.
The landowner or agent shall be liable for damage done to any
Town street or highway in the construction of such approach.
The Board of Selectmen or its agent may require a bond in an
amount sufficient to insure completion of construction when it deems
such necessary.
All permits shall expire 12 months from the date of issue unless
renewed by the Board of Selectmen or its agent and all construction
under the permit must be completed before its expiration.
Any person, firm or corporation who or which violates this chapter
shall be fined not more than $100.
