Athens Borough shall hereafter appoint, by appropriate resolution, an Auditor, who shall be a certified public accountant or qualified public accountant, or firm thereof, whose duties shall be to audit the accounts and other evidences of financial transactions of the Borough and Borough officers for the financial year of the Borough and submit a report thereon to Council.
The office of elected Borough Auditor is hereby abolished, subject to the provisions and terms of the Borough Code.[1]

Such appointed Auditor shall have all the powers and duties and be subject to the same penalties as are now applicable to the office of the elected Auditor.
Compensation of said appointed Auditor shall be fixed by resolution appointing such Auditor.
