There is hereby established a Traffic Advisory Committee.
The Traffic Advisory Committee shall consist of nine members, five of
whom shall be appointed by the Township Council and four of whom shall be
appointed by the Mayor. Members shall be Township residents who have a concern
for the management of traffic within the Township.
A. The terms of the members first appointed shall be as
follows:
(1) Three members shall be appointed for terms ending December
31 of the first year of appointment, one to be appointed by the Mayor and
two to be appointed by the Township Council.
(2) Three members shall be appointed for two-year terms,
said terms ending December 31 of the second year of the term, two to be appointed
by the Mayor and one to be appointed by the Township Council.
(3) Three members shall be appointed for three-year terms,
said terms ending December 31 of the third year of the term, one to be appointed
by the Mayor and two to be appointed by the Township Council.
B. Thereafter, the term of each member shall be for a period
of three years.
C. A member of the Township Council shall be designated
annually to serve as a nonvoting liaison between the Council and the Traffic
Advisory Committee.
D. A representative of the administration designated annually
by the Mayor shall serve as a nonvoting liaison between the administration
and the Traffic Advisory Committee.
The Parsippany-Troy Hills Traffic Advisory Committee is intended to
serve in an advisory capacity and shall, upon request of the Township Council,
provide information, advice and recommendations relating to traffic management
issues which affect or are perceived to have a potential effect on the Township
of Parsippany-Troy Hills.
