It has been determined that the presence of
large numbers of wild waterfowl as well as large numbers of deer and
the occasional presence of bears, coyotes and other wild animals causes
a public health nuisance which is inimical to the health and general
welfare of the public.
As used in this article, the following terms
shall have the meanings indicated:
FEED
To give, place, expose, deposit, distribute or scatter any
edible material with the intention of feeding, attracting or enticing
wildlife. Feeding does not include baiting in the legal taking of
fish and/or game.
WILDLIFE
All animals that are neither human nor domesticated.
No person shall feed, cause to be fed or provide
food for wild waterfowl, deer, bears, coyotes and other wildlife anywhere
in the Township, either on public or private property.
This article shall not be construed to prohibit
the feeding of birds with traditional bird feeders, providing the
bird feeders are at least five feet above the ground.
This article may be enforced by the Animal Control
Officer, Health Officer or the Police Department.
