The intent of this chapter is to protect the health, safety, welfare,
peace and repose of the residents of the Village of Lindenhurst by imposing
a permit requirement to possess or harvest crabs from the Charles J. Cowan
Village Marina located at the foot of South Wellwood Avenue.
No person shall possess, harvest or attempt to harvest crabs from the
Charles J. Cowan Village Marina without first having obtained a permit from
the Administrator Clerk of the Village of Lindenhurst. The fees for such permit
shall be in such amounts as may be established by the Board of Trustees of
the Incorporated Village of Lindenhurst by resolution from time to time. The
holder of any such permit agrees to comply with such rules and regulations
as may be promulgated by the Board of Trustees of the Village of Lindenhurst
from time to time.
Any person, firm, association, or corporation who or which shall violate
the provisions of this chapter shall be guilty of a violation and, upon conviction
thereof, shall be punishable by a fine not exceeding $250 and/or the revocation
of such person's fishing permit.
