[Adopted 2-11-1975 by Ord. No. 365 (§ 3-17.1 of the 1973 Code)]
There is hereby created the office of Borough Prosecutor who shall be nominated by the Mayor, with the advice and consent of the Council, at the organizational meeting, or at any time thereafter, in the event such appointment by the Mayor and Council is deemed advisable or necessary.
The term of office of the Borough Prosecutor, whose office is herein created, shall be at the pleasure of the Mayor and Council, but in any event shall expire on December 31 of the year in which said Borough Prosecutor is appointed.
The duties of the Borough Prosecutor, to be appointed as herein provided, shall be to prosecute any and all matters on behalf of the Borough and/or the state in the Municipal Court of the Borough of Shrewsbury and to be in attendance at all times when the Judge so requests.
In the event of a conflict of interest or otherwise, the Borough Prosecutor shall call upon the Borough Attorney to attend to any such matters.
The compensation of the Borough Prosecutor shall be such as shall, from time to time, be fixed by resolution of the Borough Council or by the Borough's Salary Resolution.[1]
