Every owner, tenant, lessee or occupant of any
house, store, building or of any part thereof or of any premises in
this Township shall, upon the days appointed by the proper authorities
for the collection of garbage, ashes and rubbish, place all receptacles
containing such ashes, garbage and rubbish, properly covered, upon
the sidewalk in front of his, her or their premises, as near the curb
as the same can be conveniently placed, and immediately after the
same are emptied remove them from the sidewalk; provided, however,
that it shall be the duty of the collectors of garbage to collect
any garbage from any premises upon which underground containers are
installed, from and out of said containers, where said containers
are installed within 25 feet of the sideline of any street and there
is an unobstructed walk or drive leading from said street to said
container; and provided further that nothing herein contained shall
limit or prohibit the collectors of garbage, ashes and rubbish from
making collections from the premises rather than from the sideline
of the street.
In complying with the provisions of the preceding
section, all garbage composed of animal or vegetable substances shall
be placed in containers separate and apart from ashes, dirt or other
household refuse not composed of animal or vegetable substances.
Receptacles for ashes, garbage, dirt or other
household refuse shall not exceed 26 inches in height, 18 inches in
diameter and 20 pounds in weight, including covers.
Boxes or baskets containing ashes, garbage, dirt or other household refuse are hereby prohibited and shall not be placed on the curb in accordance with the provisions of §
157-59 hereof.
All receptacles must be equipped with proper
covers and proper handles to facilitate the removal of their contents.
