[HISTORY: Adopted by the Township of Howell by Ord. No. O-82-6, as amended through Ord. No. O-82-57 (§ 31-4 of the 1974 Code). Subsequent amendments noted where applicable.]
In addition to any other duties imposed by the ordinances of this Township, the heads of departments hereinafter enumerated in this section shall, as part of their duties and upon request by the Township Council, participate on behalf of the Council in labor contract negotiations, including in this regard the preparation of proposals, counterproposals, reports and recommendations pertaining to any labor negotiations. Each head of a department shall also be responsible for the primary administration of the employment relation by the day-to-day interpretation, application, and administration of any pertinent labor contract in accordance with that contract and the other ordinances of the Township. Each such head of a department shall also prepare, keep and maintain records of all requests for interpretation of any labor contract by Township employees, including the disposition of the same. Nothing in this section shall alter the rights of Township employees to pursue grievances in accordance with other ordinances of the Township. The heads of departments to whom this section applies are as follows:

Senior Citizen Project Director.

Chief of Police.

Township Engineer.

Clerk.

Health Officer.
