The Village of Potsdam shall contain on and
after the effective date of this section, in addition to the territory
theretofore contained within its boundaries, the following described
territory:
A.
All that tract or parcel of land situate in Sections
No. 46 and 56 of the Town of Potsdam, County of St. Lawrence, State
of New York, and bounded thus: Beginning at a concrete monument in
the southerly bounds of Maple Street, and the easterly bounds of Penn
Central Railroad, being the most northerly corner of property of Clarkson
University; and runs thence S 89° 52' 15" E a distance of 350.30
ft. along said Maple St. south bounds to a concrete monument; thence
N 85° 41' 44" E a distance of 100.87 ft. to a point in the northwest
corner of a parcel now or formerly owned by John and Pauline Boyce;
thence S 00° 27' 50" E along the west bounds of Boyce, a distance
of 351.22 ft. to an iron pin; thence N 87° 02' 01" E a distance
of 391.02 ft. to an iron pin; thence S 11° 30' 00" E a distance
of 163.62 ft. to an iron pin; thence S 79° 51' 40" E a distance
of 200.00 ft. to an iron pin; thence S 00° 49' 33" E a distance
of 54.19 ft. to an iron pin; thence S 86° 32' 44" E a distance
of 308.26 ft. to an iron pin set in the easterly bounds of Section
No. 46; thence S 33° 24' 12" E along said section No. 46 and No.
56 easterly bounds, a distance of 3215.90 ft. to a point in the center
of Bagdad Road; said point being S 56° 48' 35" W a distance of
578.2 ft from the center of Clarkson Avenue,; thence S 56° 48'
35" W along the center of Bagdad Road a distance of 1251.62 ft. to
a point; thence S 58° 20' 50" W along the center of Bagdad Road,
a distance of 515.30 ft. to a point; thence S 60° 25' 25" W along
the center of Bagdad Road a distance of 173.41 ft. to a point; thence
S 64° 09' 50" W along the center of Bagdad Road a distance of
1079.91 ft. to a point; thence N 33° 31' 35" W a distance of 1129.26
ft. to a point; thence S 55° 57' 55" W a distance of 2091.03 ft.
to a point; thence N 34° 17' 20" W a distance of 1488.18 ft. to
a point; thence S 55° 42' 40" W a distance of 660.00 ft. to a
point; thence N 34° 17' 20" W a distance of 761.68 ft. to a point
in the south bounds of Penn Central Railroad, said point being also
the most westerly corner of Clarkson University lands; thence N 45°
05' 15" E along the southerly bounds of Penn Central Railroad, a distance
of 4438.84 ft. to a point; thence along a curve to the right on said
Penn Central southerly bounds whose chord is N 50° 31' 33" E a
distance of 624.46 ft. to the place of beginning.
B.
To contain 422.991 Acres of land, more or less.
C.
Excepting and reserving from the above that 0.918-acre
parcel of land formerly conveyed to the Village of Potsdam by deed
dated June 30, 1978, and recorded in the St. Lawrence County Clerk's
Office in Liber 932 at page 895.
The territory described in the § 7-7 is hereby annexed to the Village of Potsdam pursuant to the provisions of § 714 of the General Municipal Law.
The annexation of the above territory described in § 7-7 shall become effective on the 30th day of June 1989.
