In order to provide the necessary funds to improve, maintain and repair the municipal tennis courts on Block 7B in the City of Brigantine, a fee as set forth in Chapter
210, Mercantile Businesses, Article
II, Fees Schedule, per 60 minutes or 90 minutes, per court, shall be charged. Such fee shall be deposited in the meter or paid to the attendant prior to and as a condition of entry upon the court.
The tennis courts in the City of Brigantine will be open on a daily
basis from 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.
Any person violating any of the provisions of this chapter or any of
the rules and regulations adopted hereunder shall, upon conviction thereof,
be subject to a fine of not more than $1,000 or to imprisonment for not more
than 90 days, or to both such fine and imprisonment.
Reserved courts will only be held open for 10 minutes past the scheduled
reservation time. Any time which has been reserved and which is rained out
will be forfeited.
Any person may make reservations and the same may be made by either
phone or in person. Reservations may only be made a maximum of one week prior
to the reserved time.
The following rules and regulations shall be applicable to all tennis
courts in the City of Brigantine and shall be in addition to any and all general
rules and regulations promulgated for recreational facilities within the City
of Brigantine:
A. No motor vehicles of any type shall be allowed on the
courts or in the court area in any location other than a designated parking
area.
B. No alcoholic beverages or other intoxicants shall be
permitted to be brought or consumed on or near the tennis court area.
C. No glass containers of any kind, including but not limited
to beverage containers, may be used on or near the tennis court areas.
D. Tennis shoes or other permissible athletic shoes must
be worn at all times when playing on the tennis courts in the City of Brigantine.
E. All players and guests are requested to be courteous
at all times, obey the rules and regulations as herein established and as
otherwise existing in the City of Brigantine and should not engage in any
rude or offensive behavior.
F. Proper tennis attire is encouraged and shirts are required
to be worn at all times.
G. Once a court assignment has been made, no changing to
another court may occur.
H. The Director of Recreation and the tennis court attendants
on duty have the authority to revoke tennis privileges of any group or individual
for any violations of the rules and regulations established by this chapter
or otherwise in effect in the ordinances of the City of Brigantine.
I. No criminal behavior shall be permitted in or near the
tennis court area.
J. The tennis court attendant shall have full and exclusive
authority to decide and resolve any scheduling problems, and the decision
of said tennis court attendants shall be final.
