The Department of Leisure Services is hereby
created under the authority of Section 1 of Chapter VI of the Town
Charter.
The Department of Leisure Services shall be
headed by a Director of Leisure Services, who shall be appointed by
and responsible to the Town Manager.
The Department of Leisure Services shall include,
unless otherwise directed by the Town Manager, the following divisions:

The Department of Public Works shall be responsible for the
management, operation and maintenance of public park areas and Town-owned
cemeteries and the Department of Leisure Services shall remain responsible
for planning, organizing and supervising a comprehensive program of
recreation and leisure-time activities for residents of the Town.
Subject to the approval of the Town Manager,
the Department may establish rules and regulations governing the use
of all recreational properties and facilities under its jurisdiction.
Fees and charges for such use shall be subject to approval of the
Council.
