A. Permitted hours for Sunday sales.
(1) Pursuant to C.G.S. § 30-91, the sale of alcoholic
liquor on Sunday in establishments holding liquor permits is permitted
as follows:
(a) Golf country clubs, hotels, restaurants and clubs:
between the hours of 11:00 a.m. and 12:00 midnight.
(b) Cafes, bowling establishments and establishments holding
a charitable organization permit, university permit or university
liquor permit: between the hours of 12:00 noon and 12:00 midnight.
(2) When any Sunday falls on December 31 or January 1,
the sale of alcoholic liquor in any of the premises governed by this
article shall not begin before 12:00 noon.
B. Prohibited hours. Sale or dispensing or consumption
or presence in glasses or other receptacles suitable to permit the
consumption of alcoholic liquor by an individual shall be unlawful
in the establishments set out below as follows:
(1) Golf country clubs, hotels, restaurants and clubs:
(a) Sunday, 12:00 midnight, to Monday, 9:00 a.m.
(b) Tuesday through Friday, 1:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m.
(c) Saturday, 2:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m.
(d) Sunday, 2:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.
(2) Cafes, bowling establishments and establishments holding
a charitable organization permit, university permit or university
liquor permit:
(a) Sunday, 12:00 midnight to Monday, 9:00 a.m.
(b) Tuesday through Friday, 1:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m.
(c) Saturday, 2:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m.
(d) Sunday, 2:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon.
(3) January 1 sales. Prohibited hours shall commence at
3:00 a.m. and shall end at the time otherwise established in this
section.
C. Bowling establishment restrictions. Notwithstanding
any other provisions of this article to the contrary, the sale or
dispensing or consumption or presence in glasses in places operating
under a bowling establishment permit shall be unlawful before 2:00
p.m. pursuant to C.G.S. § 30-91(a), as amended, on any day except
in that portion of the permit premises which is located in a separate
room.
D. No requirement to sell during maximum allowable hours.
Nothing in this article shall be construed to require any permittee
hereunder to continue the sale or dispensing of alcoholic liquor until
the closing hours established by this article.
