No person shall own, operate or conduct any business for profit which
includes the use of bowling alleys, Skee-Ball alleys or pool or billiard tables
without first having obtained a license.
The annual fees for licenses required by this chapter shall be as follows:
A. Bowling alleys: $25 for the first bowling alley; $20
for the second alley; and $15 for each additional alley.
B. Skee-Ball alleys: $50 for each alley.
C. Pool or billiard tables: $25 for each table.
Licenses under this chapter shall be issued only for premises located within areas designated in Article
II, Zoning, of Chapter
188, Land Use, as zone HC (Highway Commercial Zone) or zone LI (Light Industrial Zone).
No bowling, Skee-Ball, pool or billiards shall be played in any place
requiring a license under this chapter, or in any other place or facility
open to the public, between 12:00 midnight and 7:00 a.m., except as follows:
A. Bowling alleys which are properly soundproofed and which
have installed automatic pinsetters or do not employ persons under 21 years
of age as pinsetters after 12:00 midnight may remain open until the closing
hour prescribed for taverns in the Township and on Saturday mornings and Sunday
mornings until 3:00 a.m.
B. Pool or billiard rooms or tables operated in connection
with bowling alleys may remain open for the same hours as the bowling alley.
All other pool or billiard rooms or tables or other licensed premises may
remain open until the closing hour prescribed for taverns.
C. The special hours and restrictions applicable to taverns
on Sundays shall not affect the closing hours required under this subsection,
provided that the premises are separate from any public barroom or tavern.
D. No facility for which hours are prescribed
by this subsection shall permit any person under the age of 19 years to be
present on the premises after 12:00 midnight.
