Street Sweeping Maps shall be prepared and maintained by the Director of the Department of Public Works and kept on file as public records in the office of the City Engineer, copies of which shall be distributed to the members of the Council and filed with the Council. For purposes of this chapter of the Code of the City of Lancaster, street sweeping and street cleaning shall include cleaning and/or sweeping the streets of any and all debris, trash, refuse, leaves and snow. Any and all signs promulgated restricting parking on streets for purposes of street cleaning or street sweeping, shall, without making any further changes to such signs, restrict and/or prohibit parking for all of the services and reasons set forth within this definition of street sweeping and/or street cleaning.[1]

When either the term street cleaning or street sweeping is referenced in Chapter 285 of the Code of the City of Lancaster or in Chapter 262 of the Code of the City of Lancaster, the same shall refer to the services and provisions referenced in § 285-86.
Such Street Sweeping Maps shall divide the City into areas in which street sweeping shall be done on the days of the week herein specified, and during which time no motor vehicle shall be parked between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. on the sides of the streets herein set forth, namely:
A. 
Area No. 1.
(1) 
No parking Monday on even-numbered side of street.
(2) 
No parking Tuesday on odd-numbered side of street.
B. 
Area No. 2.
(1) 
No parking Wednesday on even-numbered side of street.
(2) 
No parking Thursday on odd-numbered side of street.
C. 
Area No. 3.
(1) 
No parking Friday on even-numbered side of street.
(2) 
No parking Saturday on odd-numbered side of street.
Such Street Sweeping Maps shall also designate a center City area in which no motor vehicles shall be parked on either side of the street between the hours of 2:00 a.m. and 6:00 a.m., Monday through Saturday.
No person shall park a motor vehicle on any street of the City at the times specified in the foregoing sections of this article after notice thereof has been given in the manner herein specified.

Except as above provided, parking on other streets may be resumed prior to the prescribed times if the section of the street involved has been swept on that day.
The Traffic Commission is hereby authorized and directed to define definitely the precise boundaries of the Street Sweeping Maps and the areas therein.

The Director of the Department of Public Works shall post signs limiting parking as set forth and required by this chapter.

Whoever violates any of the provisions of this article shall, upon conviction, pay the fine and penalty prescribed in §§ 285-6 and 285-12.
