A. Office created. The office of Borough Superintendent
is hereby created in the Borough pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40A:9-154.5.
The Borough Superintendent shall also be known as the Principal Public
Works Manager and shall have management responsibility for the entire
Public Works Department and all other Public Works employees shall
report to and be supervised by the Borough Superintendent (Principal
Public Works Manager).
B. Appointment and confirmation. The Borough Superintendent
shall be appointed by the Mayor, and confirmed by the Council in accordance
with the laws relating to appointive officers.
C. Term of office. The term of office of the Borough
Superintendent shall be for one year and shall continue until the
successor to that office shall have been appointed and confirmed or
until that office shall have been abolished.
D. Compensation. The compensation of the Borough Superintendent
shall be as stated in the Salary Ordinance.
E. Duties and responsibilities. Areas of supervision
of the Borough Superintendent include the maintenance and upkeep of:
(1) Public buildings and grounds;
(3) Lakes, parks and playgrounds;
(4) Recycling. (See Chapter
315, Article
II, Recycling Program);
(5) Municipal waste. (See Chapter
315, Article
I, Garbage and Refuse Collection);
(6) Beachfront, boardwalk and bathing facilities;
(10) Repair and maintenance of mechanical equipment and
vehicles; and
(11) Supervision of Public Works employees.
A. Office created. The office of Borough Foreman is hereby
created in the Borough pursuant to statute.
B. Appointment and confirmation. The Borough Foreman
shall be appointed by the Mayor and confirmed by the Council in accordance
with the laws relating to appointive officers.
C. Term of office. The term of office of the Borough
Foreman shall be for one year and shall continue until the successor
to the office shall have been appointed and confirmed or until the
office shall have been abolished.
D. Duties. The Borough Foreman shall assist the Borough
Superintendent in carrying out the various and sundry municipal projects,
works and duties, and in the absence of the Borough Superintendent
shall be the officer in charge of the applicable projects, works and
duties and of the persons engaged therein. Further, the Borough Foreman
shall perform such other duties as the Mayor and Council may direct
and specify.
E. Compensation. The compensation of the Borough Foreman
shall be as stated in the current Salary Ordinance.

A. Office created. The Public Water Supply and Treatment
Operator shall be licensed as required in the state statutes or in
the Code or ordinances of the Borough.
B. Appointment. The Mayor shall nominate, and with the
advice and consent of the Borough Council, shall appoint the Public
Water Supply and Treatment Operator.
C. Duties. Under the supervision of the Borough Superintendent,
the Public Water Supply and Treatment Operator shall perform all the
duties as required by statutes.
D. Compensation. The compensation for the employee so
appointed shall be as provided in the current Salary Ordinance.
A. Office created. The office of Assistant Water Supply
and Treatment Plant Operator is hereby created.
B. Term of office and appointment. The term of office
of the Assistant Water Supply and Treatment Plant Operator shall be
for one year from January 1. The Mayor shall nominate, and with the
advice and consent of Council, appoint the officer.
C. Duties. The Assistant Water Supply and Treatment Plant
Operator shall be subject to the order and direction of the Public
Water Supply and Treatment Operator, and shall at all times assist
the Public Water Supply and Treatment Operator as directed, and shall
perform the duties of the Water Supply and Treatment Operator during
the absence or disability of the Water Supply and Treatment Operator.
D. Compensation. The compensation of the Assistant Water
Supply and Treatment Plant Operator shall be as established in the
current Salary Ordinance.
A. Office created. The office of Sanitary Sewer Collection
System Operator is hereby created.
B. Appointment and confirmation. The Sanitary Sewer Collection
System Operator shall be appointed by the Mayor and confirmed by the
Council in accordance with the laws relating to appointive officers.
C. Term of office. The term of office of the Sanitary
Sewer Collection System Operator shall be for one year and shall continue
until the successor to the office shall have been appointed and confirmed.
D. Duties. The duties of the Sanitary Sewer Collection
System Operator shall be to operate the Sanitary Sewer Collection
System as required by statute and the Department of Environmental
Protection.
