The position of Dispatcher is hereby established.
The job description is as follows:
A. 
General definition. Under supervision, operates emergency communications equipment and does routine clerical work involving typing and filing.
B. 
Typical examples of work. The Dispatcher answers the telephone and radio calls and dispatches emergency vehicles and personnel; logs radio and telephone traffic; responds to oral requests for emergency assistance; receives and records fines and related payments; types and files reports and correspondence; serves as Receptionist for the Police Department; does other work as required.
C. 
Required knowledge, skills and abilities. The Dispatcher shall have education equivalent to completion of the 12th grade; an effective telephone and radio speaking voice; hearing sufficient to receive telephone and radio messages; typing speed of forty-five (45) words per minute; understanding of basic filing practices; knowledge of office practice; ability to read and write English and follow directions.
D. 
Physical and medical standards. The Dispatcher shall have general health sufficient to permit the achievement of a good attendance record.

The hourly wage rate shall be as set forth from time to time by resolution of the Borough Council.
