No person shall operate or conduct in the borough any circus, carnival,
billiard room, pool room, shooting gallery or theater without first obtaining
and holding a current license therefor from the Borough Secretary. All such
licenses shall be issued for a period of one (1) day, one (1) week or one
(1) year, or for the unexpired portion of the year ending the first day of
the following April.

Every person desiring any license as required under the preceding section
of this article shall make application to the Borough Secretary therefor,
at the same time paying the application fee, and, upon issuance of such license,
shall pay the appropriate license fee, which amounts shall be as set forth
from time to time by resolution of the Borough Council.
If any person shall begin to engage in any business or activity for
which an annual license is hereby required, on or after the first day of October
in any year, and shall promptly make application for such license, a fee equal
to one-half (1/2) of the yearly fee provided in the above schedule for such
class of license shall be charged him.
Any business or activity licensed under this chapter shall be subject
to inspection by the Fire and Police Departments of the Borough.

Any person who shall violate any provision of this article shall, for
each and every such violation, upon conviction thereof, be sentenced to pay
a fine of not more than six hundred dollars ($600.) and costs of prosecution
and, in default of payment of such fine and costs, to imprisonment for not
more than thirty (30) days. Each day's violation of any provision of this
article shall constitute a separate violation.
