Whenever an owner, operator, occupant, prospective
purchaser, mortgagee or prospective occupant shall apply to the Housing
Officer for an inspection in order to ascertain if any section of
this code has been violated, the Housing Officer shall, upon payment
of a fee of $25 plus $5 for each unit in excess of six in the subject
property, cause an inspection to be made of the premises and issue
an informational report of the inspections to the applicant, indicating
therein any violations of this code on the premises. The applicant
for such inspection shall state, in writing, his full name, residence
and the reasons and basis for which the inspection is requested. The
Housing Officer may deny the application for failure to comply with
this requirement. The fee for such inspection must accompany such
application, and no report shall be issued until such fee is paid.
Where in lieu of an inspection, an owner, operator,
occupant, lessee, prospective purchaser, mortgagee or prospective
occupant requests a status report as to whether there exist violations
unknown to the applicant pending against the said premises, a copy
of any notice or order on any violation then pending shall be sent
to the applicant upon payment, in advance, of a fee of $10, plus $0.50
per page of any document which exceeds 10 standard pages of 8 1/2
inches by 11 inches.
No inspection report issued under §
219-175 or status report under §
219-176 shall be construed as providing a defense against any violation of this code or any other ordinance of the City which may be discovered thereafter, whether the condition or violation existed at the time of any such inspection or status report. The inspection or status report is provided as a convenience to the public and shall not constitute a limitation on the full enforcement of this code. The inspection or status report shall include only such matters as are embraced in this code.
