A. 
There is hereby established in the Village of McGraw a position to be known as the "Code Enforcement Officer."
B. 
The Code Enforcement Officer for the Village of McGraw shall be empowered to issue appearance tickets for violations of local laws of the Village of McGraw.
C. 
The Code Enforcement Officer shall, within the confines of the law, investigate all complaints of code violations within the Village and shall investigate code violations that come under the officer's own observation. Upon completing an investigation, the Code Enforcement Officer shall issue a letter of violation and relay a findings document to the Village Board of Trustees.
(1) 
The letter of violation shall consist of an explanation of the alleged violation and a request for the property owner to take corrective action within 14 days, and shall invite the property owner to the next scheduled Village Board Meeting for an opportunity to be heard.
(2) 
Findings relayed to the Village Board of Trustees shall include the name and address of the alleged violator, the section of the code violated, a detailed description of the problem, photographic evidence, a copy of the letter of violation sent, and a statement of whether or not the violation was corrected.
(3) 
The Village Board shall then, based upon the findings, having given the property owner the opportunity to be heard and to come into compliance and the problem having failed to be corrected within a time specified by the Village Board, cause a court appearance ticket to be issued by the Village Attorney.
