A. No licensee or any employee of any licensee shall
sell, serve, deliver or allow, permit or suffer the sale, service
or delivery of any alcoholic beverage or allow the consumption of
any alcoholic beverage on licensed premises on weekdays between the
hours of 2:00 a.m. and 7:00 a.m. or on Sundays between the hours of
2:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m., except on New Year's Day, each year, as
hereinafter provided.
B. No licensee or any employee of any licensee shall
sell, serve, deliver or allow, permit or suffer the sale, service
or delivery of any alcoholic beverage or allow the consumption of
any alcoholic beverage on licensed premises on New Year's Day, when
it is a weekday, between the hours of 4:00 a.m. and 7:00 a.m. or on
New Year's Day, when it is a Sunday, between the hours of 4:00 a.m.
and 1:00 p.m.

No licensee or any employee of any licensee
shall sell, serve, deliver or allow, permit or suffer the sale, service
or delivery of any alcoholic beverage or allow the consumption of
any alcoholic beverage on licensed premises on weekdays between the
hours of 2:00 a.m. and 7:00 a.m. or on Sundays between the hours of
2:00 a.m. and 9:00 a.m.
During the hours that sales of alcoholic beverages
are hereinabove prohibited, the entire licensed premises shall be
closed, but this section shall not apply to hotels, to restaurants
as defined in N.J.S.A. 33:1-1 et seq., to clubs or to other establishments
where the principal business is other than the sale of alcoholic beverages.
During the hours sales of alcoholic beverages
are hereinabove prohibited, no licensee shall keep lighted or illuminated,
or allow, permit or suffer to be kept lighted or illuminated, any
sign or signboard on the exterior of the licensed premises; provided,
however, that no licensee shall keep lighted or illuminated, or allow,
permit or suffer to be kept lighted or illuminated, any sign or signboard
on the exterior of the licensed premises from 2:00 a.m. Sunday until
7:00 a.m. the following Monday.
The hours herein referred to shall be Eastern
standard time, except from the last Sunday in April until the last
Sunday in October, when they shall be Eastern daylight saving time.
Any person who shall violate any provision of
this article shall be subject, upon conviction, to a fine of not more
than $200 or imprisonment for not more than 90 days, or both, in the
discretion of the court.
