There is hereby established a Special Events Committee for the Borough of Oradell to be known as the "Special Events Committee of the Borough of Oradell."
The purpose of the Special Events Committee is to organize the local patriotic celebrations, including, but not limited to, parades and fireworks. The Committee sponsors various events in order to bring together local citizens, businesses and civic groups with the goal of fostering a social and community-building atmosphere.
A. 
The Special Events Committee shall consist of at least 12 members, but not to exceed 16 members, who shall be residents of the Borough of Oradell. The members of the Special Events Committee shall be appointed by the Mayor with the approval of the Borough Council for terms of one year, to serve without salary.
B. 
Any vacancy occurring for any reason shall be filled for the unexpired term by appointment of the Mayor.
C. 
The Special Events Committee shall organize annually and from its members elect a Chair.
The duties of the Special Events Committee shall be as follows:
A. 
Raising funds through various events in order to help plan, finance and coordinate the Borough's patriotic celebrations, fireworks and other community events.
The Special Events Committee shall keep complete and accurate records of its meetings and activities and shall make an annual report to the Mayor and Council.
