The provisions of this article are intended to be in addition to and supplementary to the provisions of the Transportation Article of the Maryland Code and in accordance with the authority granted by said article.
Whenever, in the judgment of the Mayor and Council of Myersville, it is necessary for the safety or control of vehicular or pedestrian traffic, or for the regulation of the use of parking areas, the Mayor and Council of Myersville may erect or cause to be erected traffic control and parking restriction signs to control, regulate, warn or guide such traffic or limit parking on public streets, highways or other areas in the Town of Myersville, Maryland. It shall be the duty of all persons to observe and obey such signs, and any person failing to obey such a sign shall, upon conviction thereof, be guilty of a misdemeanor. Nothing herein contained shall be deemed to constitute a repeal of the authority heretofore granted by the Mayor and Council of Myersville for the erection of traffic control and parking restriction signs, and a failure to obey any such signs heretofore erected shall be subject to the same penalties provided therefor.
A. 
No person shall park a motor vehicle, except when necessary to avoid conflict with other pedestrian or vehicular traffic or in compliance with the direction of any police officer or traffic control device, in any of the following places:
(1) 
In front of any public driveway or alleyway, or in front of a private driveway unless with the consent of the owner or occupant of the premises.
(2) 
Within 20 feet of any intersection or as posted.
(3) 
On public sidewalks.
(4) 
Within 10 feet of a fire hydrant.
(5) 
Within 30 feet of any beacon, stop sign or traffic control signal.
(6) 
Within 20 feet of the driveway entrance to any fire department station, and within 75 feet of such entrance when posted by a sign.
(7) 
On curves or at the brow of a hill where painted lines mark the surface on the roadway.
B. 
No person shall park a motor vehicle, except when necessary to avoid conflict with other pedestrian or vehicular traffic or in compliance with the direction of any police officer or traffic control device, in any of the following locations:

C. 
No person shall stop, stand or park a vehicle designated or used for carrying freight or merchandise on any street, highway or alley within the Town of Myersville unless such vehicle is actually being unloaded or the operator of such vehicle is actually engaged in rendering a service to a dwelling house or business abutting on such street, highway or alley.
D. 
Thirty-minute parking only is allowed for times of day as posted in areas where the curb is marked by yellow paint and posted.
Traffic shall proceed one way east and north on Trolley Lane as posted.

A. 
The provisions of this section are applicable on private property throughout the Town of Myersville.
B. 
The terms used in this section shall have the meaning of such terms as set forth in the Transportation Article of the Annotated Code of Maryland, as amended from time to time.
C. 
A motor vehicle engine may not be allowed to operate for more than five consecutive minutes when the vehicle is not in motion, except as follows:
(1) 
When a vehicle is forced to remain motionless because of traffic conditions or mechanical difficulties over which the operator has no control;
(2) 
When it is necessary to operate heating and cooling or auxiliary equipment installed on the vehicle;
(3) 
To bring the vehicle to the manufacturer's recommended operating temperature; or
(4) 
When it is necessary to accomplish the intended use of the vehicle.

Any person violating the provisions of this article shall, upon conviction, be guilty of a Class G municipal infraction and fined in accordance with Chapter 20.
