[HISTORY: Adopted by the Borough Council of the Borough of Carteret
2-2-1995 as Ord. No. 95-7. Amendments noted where applicable.]
The Mayor and Council establishes a Recreation Commission. Said Commission
shall be composed of seven (7) members appointed by the Mayor for a term of
five (5) years. The initial appointments shall be as follows: one (1) person
shall be appointed for one (1) year, two (2) persons shall be appointed for
two (2) years, two (2) persons shall be appointed for three (3) years, one
(1) person shall be appointed for four (4) years and one (1) person shall
be appointed for five (5) years. Any person appointed to fill a vacancy shall
be for the unexpired term in which the vacancy occurred.
The Commission shall be empowered to appoint subcommittees which shall
serve at the discretion of the Commission.
The Chairman of the Borough Council's Park and Recreation Committee
shall serve as an ex-officio non-voting member of the Commission.
The Commission shall be empowered with all duties and responsibilities
as defined in N.J.S.A. 40:12 et seq.
