There is hereby established in the Village of Rouses Point the office
of Deputy Clerk. This office shall be in the exempt class regarding civil
service classification. The term of office of the Deputy Clerk shall be for
two official Village years and shall be concurrent with the terms of office
of the Village Clerk.
The Deputy Clerk shall be appointed by the Mayor of the Village subject
to approval of the Board of Trustees. The Deputy Clerk shall be required to
take and file the official oath of office. Vacancy of this office shall be
filled by appointment in accordance with the provisions of the Village Law,
as amended.
The annual salary for the Deputy Clerk shall be established by the Board
of Trustees and shall hereafter be appropriated in its annual budget.
Nothing herein contained shall be deemed or construed as abolishing,
transferring, impeding or curtailing any powers or duties of any elected official,
or of the Board of Trustees, or of the Mayor, Treasurer or Attorney, as prescribed
by the Village Law or other applicable laws of the state.
