GENERAL REFEFENCES
Fees — See Ch. 111.
As used in this chapter, the following terms shall have the meanings indicated:
ESTABLISHMENT or BUSINESS
Where used herein either jointly or severally, any establishment or business where washing, drying or cleaning of wearing apparel, linens, bedding or other fabrics or materials of any style, kind or use is done in a machine, coin-operated or otherwise, by customers or members of the public upon the premises and in the machines of such establishment or business.
MACHINE
Any automatic or self-operated machine, coin-operated or otherwise, for use by the public for the purpose of washing, cleaning, drying or dry cleaning of wearing apparel, linens, bedding or other fabrics or materials of any style, kind or use.
All machines shall be kept thoroughly clean and in sanitary condition at all times.
No detergents or chemicals may be used in connection with such machines which would in any way interfere with the operation of the municipal sewerage system. Such establishments shall install and maintain such traps or other devices as may be required to eliminate harmful deposits or accumulations in the sewer system.
A. 
The premises devoted to such business or establishment shall be kept in a sanitary condition, with the floors clean and dry. Adequate and complete ventilation shall be provided, together with a sufficient amount of natural or artificial light in accordance with the requirements of the Board of Health.
B. 
All such establishments shall comply with the provisions of the Sanitary Code of the Township of Haddon, and the Board of Health shall periodically inspect such establishments.
No such business or establishment shall be located on any premises unless the same shall have available off-street parking facilities for at least one car for each such machine located in such business or establishment and for each employee or attendant on duty, such parking facilities to be on the immediate premises or contiguous thereto.
No person, firm or corporation shall construct, operate or maintain such establishment or business within the municipal limits of the Township of Haddon except after having a permit or license issued for such business or establishment under the provisions of this chapter.
Any person or corporation desiring to construct, operate or maintain such business or establishment shall first make application in writing to the Board of Commissioners of the Township of Haddon for such business. Said application shall specify such materials used or to be used in the alteration of the premises, the location of the premises and the floor space therein devoted or used for such business.
No permit or license shall be granted or issued for any such business or establishment which may be located within 2,000 feet of another such business or establishment.

Every person or corporation who shall operate such business or establishment shall pay an annual license fee as provided in Chapter 111, Fees, which license fee shall be due and payable on the first day of January of each and every year.
Any premises used for such business or establishment shall have adequate private toilet facilities available for use by customers of such business or establishment.
Such business or establishment shall be equipped with fire extinguishers of the number, type and quality as shall be required by the Commissioner of Public Safety, together with such other equipment as he may deem necessary for fire or other emergent purpose.
The issuance of a permit or license hereunder shall be subject to compliance with all other ordinances of the Township of Haddon, including the Zoning Ordinance of the Township of Haddon.[1]

No permit or license hereunder shall be granted for the operation of such business or establishment unless the proposed premises thereof shall be exclusively devoted to the use of such business or establishment.

Any violation of this chapter shall be punishable by a fine not exceeding $1,000 or by imprisonment for a term not exceeding 90 days, or by both such fine and imprisonment, in the discretion of the Municipal Judge.
