The position of Administrator is hereby created.
The Administrator shall be appointed by the
governing body on the basis of his executive and administrative qualifications
and training in governmental affairs and/or actual experience therein.
Nothing herein shall prevent him from also holding any other elective
or appointive municipal office of said Township and fulfilling the
duties thereof.

The term of office for the Administrator shall
be for a period of three years and shall commence on January 1 of
the year within which the appointment is made and shall terminate
on December 31 three years hence. The position of Township Administrator
shall not be a tenured position within the Township of Hanover.
During the absence or disability of the Administrator,
the governing body may, by resolution, appoint an elected or appointed
official or employee of the municipality to perform the duties of
the Administrator during such absence or disability. The Acting Administrator
may be paid such compensation as may be determined by resolution.
The compensation of the Administrator shall
be as fixed in the Salary Ordinance of the municipality.

The Administrator may be removed during the
term for which he has been appointed at the discretion of the governing
body by a two-thirds vote of the governing body. The resolution of
removal shall become effective three months after its adoption by
the governing body unless the governing body shall pay the Administrator
forthwith any unpaid balance of his salary to date and his salary
for the next three calendar months following the adoption of the resolution
of removal, in which case the resolution shall become effective immediately
upon its adoption.
