[HISTORY: Adopted by the Mayor and Council of the Borough of Saddle River 7-8-1974 as Secs. 17-6 through 17-9 of the 1974 Code. Amendments noted where applicable.]
The owners or tenants of all land abutting any traveled roads within the Borough shall maintain all bushes and trees on their land in such a manner as to prevent any part thereof from projecting over the public easement between the elevation of the road and a height of 15 feet.
The owners or tenants of all land abutting any traveled roads and within 30 feet of the point of intersection of the side lines of the road where the side line intersects at an angle of 150° or less shall remove all brush and bushes over 24 inches in height and branches of trees below 15 feet, measured from the roadbed from the land bounded by the intersecting curbline and a line joining points each 30 feet distant from the intersection of the curblines along the curbline of each street.

The owners or tenants of any lands within the Borough shall not maintain on such land any brush, weeds, dead and dying trees, stumps, roots, obnoxious growths, filth, garbage, trash and debris that may present a threat to the public health, safety or general welfare or which is a fire hazard.
In the event that the owners or tenants of lands set forth in § 88-3 shall not comply with the provisions of such section within 10 days after service of a written notice to remove the materials, the Borough may, in a manner to be provided for by resolution of the Mayor and Council, remove the same and proceed to fix the cost thereof and charge the land with said cost as provided by N.J.S.A. 40:48-2.14.
Violation of this chapter shall be punishable as provided in Ch. 1, General Provisions, Art. III, General Penalty.[1]
