There shall be four regular or standing committees
of the Borough Council, each committee to be composed of four members
of the Borough Council to be appointed by the President of the Council
who shall also appoint a chairman for each committee.
The regular or standing committees shall be
designated as follows:
A. General Government, in charge of administration, tax
collection, Borough buildings, code administration, insurance, debt
service, investments, library, law, health and other related matters.
B. Protection to Persons and Property, in charge of Police
Bureau and Fire Bureau and other related matters.
C. Public works, in charge of sanitary sewers, streets,
bridges, streetlighting, and markings, building maintenance and other
related matters.
D. Recreation, in charge of parks and playgrounds, shade
trees, swimming, pools, recreation, and other related matters.
The President of the Borough Council shall have
authority, at his or her discretion, to appoint such other additional
committees as from time to time may be deemed necessary or expedient
for the conduct of the business of the Borough Council.
