The Borough Code of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania requires that Borough Council set the salaries of the Mayor, President of Council and members of Council by ordinance, and this chapter is designed to comply with that requirement.

The salary for the Mayor of the Borough of Marcus Hook, Delaware County, Pennsylvania, shall be equal to and in accordance with the maximum permitted by Section 1001 of the Act of February 1, 1966 (1966 P.L. 1656, No. 581), known as the "Borough Code,"[1] 1/12 of the amount being paid each month.

The salary for the President of Borough Council of Marcus Hook, Delaware County, Pennsylvania, shall be equal to and in accordance with the maximum permitted by Section 1001 of the Borough Code,[1] 1/12 of the amount being paid each month.

The salaries established by this chapter for the Mayor, the President of the Borough Council and the members of the Borough Council shall remain in effect from year to year without annual reenactment until such time as they shall be changed or amended by an ordinance of the Borough Council.
